Wow, I had so much support after I finished RPC, and I have to say I was really touched by it. To everyone who commented on my blog, thank you for doing so. I made a post on KW about it, and thank you to the people who posted there as well. Finally, another NaNoer went through the trouble of making a post for me on NaNo after reading my blog post. That’s not even counting a couple of people who I got to tell on MSN (and by the way, Cassie, I’m really not mad at you… so please stop thinking I am). So needless to say, the support was overwhelming for me and you all definitely made up for the disappointment last night!
Today, I was able to go through everything with a clear conscience. Last night started off Zing Thing 2008 on KW, and I started that early today. The first short story I began with was from the point of view of a cloud, and it died quickly. I got to about seven hundred and fifty words before I couldn’t make myself go on. I shut it down, and then tried again about an hour later. This time, my story was about a boy who is transgender, and details the millionth time he’s tried to tell his alcoholic mom about it. She never hears him, and in the end, his father – who pretends everything is perfectly normal – comes home. That one flowed much more quickly, let me tell you. I had it done in about fourty-five minutes. I really like the way it turned out, too. Everything is subtle, and you have to be reading quite closely to pick up on a lot of things. I like that.
I started considering TVE a bit more seriously today, and I think I’ve decided to remove the vampire from it (yes, this means the title will obviously change, but it will continue to be referred to as TVE until I come up with one). The only real reason I had the vampire part in there was to explain why no others like Azaelia had been created. They weren’t even really vampires, and I’m worried that the vampire part might chase people away. Of course, this opened up a whole slew of plot problems which I’m now trying to work out. On the one hand, it’s good that I found out about them before I began to write. On the other hand, my goddess, they’re a pain in the butt to try to figure out. Thank goodness Cassie is taking the time to help me! I think the story will be much better once the questions are answered, though.
And to finish this post off, I’ll end with two things. One, I feel that I’ve finished RPC. I don’t miss Cassis the way that I thought I would. Her story is completed for now, and I think she understands that. Secondly, I’ve finally tracked down the links for the 2005 NaNo Adopt-A-Plot thread and the 2006 NaNo Adoplt-A-Plot thread. This was major excitement for me, and I’ll definitely be scouring those threads for ideas later on!

I’m so excited by your new project
It’s nice to be involved in helping to plan it! And it’s definitely giving me a renewed sense of enthusiasm for one of my own projects, reminding me what I love about these kinds of stories.
